By any standard we had a very successful sale with all the seventeen bulls we brought to the bull sale at Stirling selling through the ring and it was particularly pleasing that several were bought by past buyers of our bulls whose renewed support is particularly welcome. We wish all our buyers the very best of luck with their purchases. Winning the intermediate championship with Balthayock Nanook and the prize for the best team of three bulls by one sire was an added bonus.  It was a massive effort by the home team and also by our enthusiastic helpers over the course of the sale that was rewarded by so many complimentary comments on the quality of the whole team of bulls and the standard of their presentation. Well done everyone.

Now the whole process starts all over again and the bull pens are full of a new team being prepared for the May sales. So far all is going well and the halter training is well advanced.

Two new young sires are joining the herd. Balthayock Normile, with terminal and replacement EBVs of 70/67 and a son of the great Dingle Hofmeister, and Balthayock Nevada with terminal and replacement EBV’s of 82/84 to replace his sire Balthayock Impression, bring character quality and outstanding figures for ease of calving combined with exceptional growth.
